PEX Plumbing: Is PEX All It’s Cracked Up to Be?

Discover why AquaCheck uses PEX plumbing for most water treatment installations and how its flexibility and durability can benefit your home.

PEX Plumbing: Is PEX all it’s cracked up to be? We think so.

Which is why we use PEX on the majority of our installs. Here are some things we like about it.

-Cost-effective: PEX pipe and its fittings cost significantly less than metal options like copper.

-Flexible: In our particular application, we love the flexibility of PEX for the simple reason that our equipment, often installed in a garage, may get bumped into and moved around. With traditional plumbing materials like PVC or copper, this poses a big issue with leaks.

PEX gives you, the homeowner some added protection, when accidents happen.

-Corrosion-resistant: PEX does not rust, pit, or scale from hard or acidic water.

-Freeze-resistant: The material expands and contracts when water freezes, making it less likely to burst than PVC or rigid metal pipes.

-Quiet operation: PEX expands slightly to absorb pressure changes, reducing water hammer noise. The cost effectiveness and durability of PEX makes it the clear choice for 90% of our installs.
